Rehearsals have started, Kansas City concert scheduled

Yesterday was our first rehearsal of the 2013 season. It’s still not too late to register.

Please note that our rehearsal schedule for March 3-4 is different than usual; the Wichita rehearsal is on Sunday, and the Hesston rehearsal is on Monday.

And, we’re going to Kansas City! Join us there on June 9. Take a look at our concerts page for more.

2013 is here and we’re gearing up for it now. Music packing for early choir registrants will be happening soon – though you can still, of course, join at the door at a rehearsal! Our concert schedule is posted, as is our rehearsal schedule. This year’s schedule features a full concert in Wichita and in North Newton, Kansas.

If you’ve never heard a 300-voice choir, you can learn a bit about us and why we are here.

Concert in Presser Hall done; Hays coming up in June

We had another fun evening at Presser Hall in Lindsborg last night. It is always great to hear Stephen Vincent on the organ, and the best seat in the house has to be on stage! Between that and the brass, plus 300 people singing, it was a great evening of music.

And there’s more coming up. KMMC members going to Hays can find the registration form and directions in our members area. Our practice for Hays will be Sunday, June 3, at 2:30PM at Hesston Mennonite Church.

We all enjoyed singing at Bethel College last Sunday. The weather was cooler than it had been in the last few years, so it was fairly pleasant to have 300 people on stage all at once. If you were there to hear us, THANKS for coming! We hope you enjoyed the concert.

We have some more coming up. Next Sunday, April 22, we will be at Presser Auditorium at Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS, at 7PM.

Then on June 9, we will be at the Beach/Schmidt Auditorium in Hays at 7PM.

New KMMC Events

There are some additions to the KMMC schedule this year.

On Sunday, March 18, a group of KMMC singers will have a brief part in the service at First United Methodist Church in Wichita. You’ll be able to attend, or watch it live on KAKE channel 10 at 11AM.

When on June 9, we’ll be in concert at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS. More details will follow.

Our first practice was Sunday. We have over 300 people signed up. It’s really difficult to get a photo of all of them at once.

And here is the stage.

It’s not too late to join us as a singer! Come to our next rehearsal a few minutes early and we’ll get you signed up at the door.
